Mont Supports Adventure: Highlights from the Kowen Running Event

Last Sunday, Mont proudly sponsored Kowen New Year's Resolution run, an incredible, community focused event, held in the scenic Kowen Forest. With the spirit of adventure in the air and the picturesque surroundings setting the tone, the day was nothing short of amazing.

The event brought together enthusiastic competitors from across the region, each eager to tackle the challenging terrain and test their limits. From seasoned trail runners to first-time participants, the atmosphere was electric.

At Mont, we believe in supporting events that encourage people to embrace the natural world, challenge themselves, and connect with like-minded adventurers. Mont has been the sole sponsor of Kowen over the 6 years, providing flags, bollards, marquees and infrastructure, a market stall to provide the best trail gear, nutrition and mandatory kit. We also contribute exceptional prizes, including Julbo’s newest, top of the line ultra-light glasses – Ultimate Cover Reactive 0-4. The lucky recipient being one of first in the country to own a pair.

Visit us instore to try out the new Julbo range, just landed in Australia the week prior!

Julbo sunglasses are a favourite among trail runners for their durability, lightweight design, and advanced lens technology. Offering superior UV protection and photochromic options, they adapt to changing light, ensuring clear vision on varied terrain.

Julbo’s 0-4 photochromic lenses are designed for extreme light adaptability, transitioning seamlessly from category 0 (clear) to category 4 (maximum protection) based on light intensity.

A special congratulations goes to the winners and runners-up of the day. We witnessed outstanding performances, determination, and camaraderie over the 12km and 21km distances. Multiple Mont staff members made up some if the 651 participants, including our store manager, Leann Geach! It was a joy to witness their hard work and passion pay off.

We were also thrilled to see so many runners sporting brands we stock and support during the event. Whether it was our ultra-light running packs, durable trail shoes, or breathable performance wear, we’re proud to see our products helping adventurers perform their best.

The day wasn’t just about the competition, though, it was also about community. Families cheered from the sidelines, volunteers worked tirelessly to keep the event running smoothly, and participants celebrated each other’s achievements at the finish line. Events like this remind us why we’re so passionate about the outdoors: they bring people together and create memories that last a lifetime.

Mont would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who made this event such a success — from the organizers and volunteers to the incredible athletes who gave it their all. We’re honoured to have been part of it and look forward to supporting many more adventures in the future.

See you in store and on the trails!
