Born out of the Italian Dolomites, Narciso Delladio first began La Sportiva by handcrafting leather boots and wooden clogs for local farmers. As word began to spread, Delladio was then approached to produce custom mountain boots for the Army, using a unique proprietary lacing system. Following the success of this, Delladio began producing ski boots which quickly became known for their technical innovation and aesthetic appearance.
In the 80’s, La Sportiva then expanded into climbing shoes, a new and exciting untapped market. As a product leader and innovator within the outdoor footwear sector, La Sportiva was able to lead the charge on high-quality, innovative, aesthetic, and functional adventuring footwear right from the start.
