Rock Exotica's Mini Eight has side ears allowing friction to be added quickly, and facilitates easy locking off of the device. The Mini Eight is compatible with single ropes up to 13mm, or doubled ropes up to 10.5mm, and has an MBS of 14kN. Rock Exotica use 7075 aluminium alloy, making it harder and longer lasting compared to cheaper devices. A rubber gasket snugly holds most carabiners at the connection point to prevent cross loading. At just 60 grams, the Mini 8 makes a great backup descender, or a key piece of equipment in weight critical situations.
